【DESCRIPTION】
This standard establishes the generic requirements for a document set describing electronic products, and the methodology used for revision control and configuration management of the information. The generic descriptions apply to the entire document set and are used to define and maintain the electronic product. The methodology permits different grades of completeness of the documentation, as well as identifying the various products, packaging and interconnection techniques for which unambiguous documentation is required. The requirements pertain to both hard copy and electronic data descriptions.

この規格は，電子製品を記述する文書群の一般的な要件と，その情報の改訂コントロール及び構成管理に使用される方法論を確立するものである。一般的な記述は，文書セット全体に適用され、電子製品を定義し、維持するために使用される。この方法論は、文書の完全性について異なる等級を許容し、また、明確な文書が必要とされる様々な製品、パッケージング、相互接続技術を識別する。この要件は、ハードコピーと電子データの両方の記述に関連している。
